  1. When is all this going to be mandatory teaching in classes of Nurses Aides. So many of them don’t have the vaguest idea what to do. As one of the aides asked as she watched me brush my husband’s teeth how to you manage to do that. Answer I just wait for him to let go of the toothbrush. As I have observed in a VA nursing home so many of them don’t understand what is going on in the brain of an Alzheimer’s patient. Kind and understanding when dealing with them is so necessary and a sh>> load of patience. Also when are they going to increase the number of staff so they aren’t so overworked?
